Day Eight - Blog Post by Abbey Engle
Day 8- Abbey Engle
Today was day 2 of the safari. We started the day with an
early morning game drive and were lucky enough to see a leopard ripping apart an
impala in a tree. Jason was kind enough to play his Lion King soundtrack while
we were driving through the next part of the park. After driving a while longer
we found a herd of elephants that got a little too close for comfort, in Jason’s
opinion. Our cars got stuck in the road behind elephants crossing, and suddenly
some of them started fighting right in front of us. We went back to the chalet to
eat breakfast and to take a quick break before going out again. Some stayed
back from the second ride to watch WWE and have their own adventure. They
missed out because as soon as we went back out we saw zebra right along the
road. We then drove to the top of a mountain where we got to get out and look
down into the valley. After taking some cool pictures we started to make our
way back to the chalet to pick up the others. When we got back, Mrs. Steiner
had to make a run for it because she was scared of the monkeys. Our first stop
on the last safari trip of the day was the cheetah. We saw 4 laying down in the
grass and got a decent view of them through the binoculars. We then ran into
another group of about 30 elephants, and of course, Jason was in the middle of
it again. We all had such a good day and saw so many cool animals, but seeing
all of them makes me miss my dog. See ya soon! 😀
