Day Seven - Blog Post by Justin Gerber
Day 7 – Justin Gerber
On Friday, everyone was a bit relieved but also a bit down because
it was only a half day at the school (Parent Day). We hung out with the
children, played games with the parachute, listened to Ryan and Isaac play the
guitar as we sang along, all while the children were being picked up one by
one. I was surprised at how well dressed the parents were. Some had very nice
cars as well.
When we got
our rental vans, we went on a 3 hour drive to the game park and had lunch at a
supermarket about halfway into the trip. We got these little meat pies and
there were several different flavors along with these triangular-meat-crossaint
things. We arrived at the park and went on a mini safari. As we drove to our
chalets, we saw giraffe, 3 elephants, some hippotamus swimming, and a jackal
right away.
For dinner that night, we went to a restaurant at the park. I
had really good French fries, lamb, and some other good foods. Tomorrow morning
we will be getting up pretty early and heading out for a safari where I hope we
run into some really cool animals, not literally though. ;)
