Day Two - Blog post by Jonah Baum
Day 2 by Jonah Baum
We all woke up and went to church for the 10:00 service at the
Edenvale Baptist Church. This church has many missions to help out around the
community and seems like a smaller version of West Shore Free. Although it was
a very nice service on Job, the 24 hours of flight jetlag and time zone changes
made staying awake during the service a challenge. After that, we drove around
the town and went into a mall that was way nicer than any I’ve seen in the US.
Then we went to Moyo’s, which was a beautiful African style buffet restaurant which
served as a perfect gateway into South African culture. They served a variety
of classy foods and live music with a tribal twist to it. We then all got
tribal face paintings and headed back to the house. Finally, we debriefed and
prepared for the school day tomorrow.
Nice face paint ladies! Thumbs up on the writing Jonah! :) Praying for you all as you start teaching tomorrow and making new friendships with the kids!!
